The relationship between God and mankind has always been characterized by giving. God created men and women, gave us life, and then blessed us with an entire world which He made for us to inhabit and enjoy. The practice of responding to God’s blessing with a tangible offering of gratitude, was established by the very first family in the Word of God. In the ultimate act of giving, God gave us His only Son so that we might have eternal life!
Abram’s tithe to the Priest King Melchizedek (Gen 14:20), Jacob’s vow (Gen 28:18-22), the formal establishment of giving as an act of worship in Mosaic Law, and God’s great promise of reciprocity (Mal 3:11-12) all serve as the Old Testament foundation for our giving here at Greater Trinity.
In the New Testament we believe are challenged to become “givers”; not as a requirement for righteousness, but in response to the righteousness which God has freely given to all who express faith in the sacrifice and Lordship of His Son. Luke records Jesus’ teaching about liberal giving (Luke 6:38), and Paul reminds us that God loves those that give with joy (2 Cor 9:6-8). Freewill giving was a hallmark of the first church (Acts 2:44-45). Quite frankly, tithing is only the beginning!
We provide the members and friends of Greater Trinity three ways to offer financial gifts, out of their treasury, to God.
- In Person - During Sunday Worship, or dropped off at the church mailbox.
- By Mail - Mailed to the church address.
- Online - Through the “GiveHub.com” link found on this page.
At Greater Trinity, we encourage all of our church family and friends to pray about their giving, and to give as the Holy Spirit leads them. We appreciate every gift, and we pray for every giver. Your generosity is making a difference!
